Opinion:

Pros:

The biggest draw this knife has is its price. Yes you can definitely find other knives at a similar price point or even cheaper, but you will have difficulty finding a similar option from a company as reputable as Spyderco. That being said, this obviously is not one of their premium knives, this is very much their attempt at a budget friendly option. With that in mind let's take a look at what the Tenacious has to offer. First, lets look at the pocket clip, while I do have one small issue with it I love the ability to carry my knives tip up like many people so anything beyond that is just extra that may not be used but is nice to have. Next we have the spydie hole. I will be honest, this did take some getting used to but once I did I fell in love with the mechanics. I find it almost entertaining to flick the blade open. It is definitely easier to use my thumb, but I have gotten much better with my index and middle fingers. I also want to point out that his knife is incredibly comfortable in your hand. The G-10 Scales are very comfortable and your thumb rests perfectly at the base of the blade allowing you to have complete control over your actions.

Cons:

I have two very small complaints. The first is a design issue in my opinion, I love that I can move the pocket clip around to four different positions but I really wish that they offered a deep carry option. This obviously is not a major deal for most people but I would prefer that capability. The other issue is that I have noticed a weird squeak when opening the blade slowly without doing a spydie flip. I think that this is just the metal rubbing together and like I said I do not notice it when opening the blade normally.

Conclusion:

Like I mentioned earlier, this is obviously a budget Spyderco knife. That being said, you definitely aren't cutting a ton of corners to the point that you feel cheated. Yes there are some noticeable differences between this knife and some of their top of the line products like a difference in steel and locking mechanism. However, taking in the overall design and quality of the Tennacious and you are left with an affordable introduction to a very good knife company. I have been carrying this knife in between the testing of other new blades and don't really want to put it down. I would love to upgrade to one of their other designs but just cannot bring myself to drop a couple hundred dollars on a pocket knife. Oh well, that is my problem not yours. To wrap things up, this almost instantly became one of my top three favorite knives to carry currently and I am incredibly happy I purchased it.
