Olight M1T Raider Special Version

First and foremost, the version I have is the non "tactical version" the only differences are the bezel (mine being smooth) and the order of the modes being reversed. This will be a little bit of a short post today just a heads up.

Opinion:

Pros:

While I have gotten used to side switches, I really like the ability to hit a tail button while holding it overhand. I know that both designs have advantages but this just feels natural. On high mode the Raider puts out a very nice amount of light and even when it drops to 300 Lumens it still feels really bright. I like the large profile of clip as it helps slide the Raider farther into the pocket and stay securely.

Cons:

I really want to like this light but I have had pretty consistent problems getting the light to not switch between modes randomly. I can get it back to normal, but this really shouldn't be a problem. I also find that the body just is not as comfortable as I would hope. The double helix does add surface area and friction for you to grip but it also digs a little bit into your palm. Similarly, it feels a bit chubby. I think this is mostly just because of the length to diameter relationship. Lastly, while I like the clip for the most part, it does somewhat dig into your hand when you grip it.

Conclusion:

If you are going to buy this light I suggest the standard version, the bezel really is not a big problem unless you really want it to be crenelated. However, I really prefer the ability to go straight to high as opposed to low first. I obviously knew the difference but this was the only version available at the time. I also want to point out that Olight does run sales and specials often enough that you can definitely pick up some deals if you keep an eye out. This is not an awful light by any means but there are a few things that I don't love about it.
