Opinion:

Pros:

First and foremost, this is a very neat design. I don't mean that in a gimmicky way but rather this is truly something that you do not see utilized very often. The EverRatchet is obviously very small which means that it fits perfectly into my EDC. This size also helps you reach those tough locations by utilizing the angle of bit location. Another nice thing about the customer service rather than the actual design of the EverRatchet is that your purchase includes a Phillips bit, fire starter, and four neoprene bands. This makes sure that their tool is able to function at its fullest right out of the packaging which I think is highly important. I will admit that it takes a little while to get used to the design of this tool from the ratchet to the bit location to the size. That being said, you will get used to it if you try. I personally end up holding it differently depending on the angle I am at, but I like having a finger on the back of the bit to ensure that it remains in its slot and engaged.

Cons:

I don't have a lot to complain about here but I do want to point out a few things that cought my attention. First, I expect just about everything to come with a bottle opener now, but I dislike the location of the opener on this tool. It does not cause a major problem but I do feel like it is in my way sometimes. I also get that the small rulers were a nice little touch to try and pack one more feature in but I personally have no real use for measuring 1/2" or 1 cm. Once again, not saying these are terrible features, just that I do not really find them useful. I did notice that the static 1/4" slot seems a hair off. I didn't have any problem with the bit coming out but there was a noticeable wiggle due to the difference in size. Lastly, I have one small gripe with the design of the ratcheting system. When I hold the tool with the writing facing me and insert the bit into the ratchet slot I expect it to be in a clockwise fashion. To their credit the EverRatchet does have a small arrow pointing out that this is not the case. Obviously, it is not a major problem to switch the tool around, just a small design that confused me. Those are the only real problems that I noticed.

General Thoughts:

This tool also comes in a titanium version for around $10 more. I debated whether or not to add this part into the cons section but I decided to put it here. I like the fact that GearInfusion includes a small ferro rod in the packaging, but it is either that or the bit because there is only room for one on this tool. The ferro rod is also extremely small which makes it difficult to handle, but the edge of the EverRatchet can operated as an efficient striker I do want to point out that it would be nice if I didn't have to worry about the bit sliding out the back while I am using it but this is a concern among most similarly designed bit drivers so I don't fault GearInfusion and understand that is is what makes the EverRatchet able to ratchet in both directions. Overall, this is a very nifty little tool that can make it significantly easier to tighten or loosen a screw rather than a conventionally designed tool that exclusively utilizes a static bit slot. I have taken to carrying it in my coin pocket for now as it is secure while still being accessible.
